Starting Location (city/town): Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters

733 Old Clinton Rd, Westbrook, CT

 

Starting Location (detailed directions to): Take I-95 to Exit 64 and go south on Horse Hill Road (Rt. 145). At the stop sign, turn left onto Old Clinton Rd. The visitor parking area is about 1 mile down the road on the right.

Ride Description: This is a ride over mostly rolling terrain in Westbrook, Clinton, Ivoryton, Centerbrook and Essex with extensive views of Long Island Sound. In Essex, the ride goes to the Essex Town Dock and the Connecticut River Museum on the Connecticut River.

Note: Pilots Point Marina/Boatyard is private property and sometimes not accessible from the main entrance on Rte. 1 between (roughly) Memorial Day and Labor Day. To continue the ride without entering Pilots Point Marina, continue on Rte. 1 for approximately 0.6 miles to Seaview Ave
