Starting Location: Town Center Shops, 1735 Ellington Road, South
Windsor, CT
Directions to Starting Location : From I84, take Exit 62, head north on
Buckland Street, approximately one mile north of Evergreen Walk, turn left
into Town Center Shops. From North Rte 5, take Sullivan Ave, just after
center of S. Windsor (intersection of Rte 30), take right into Town Center
Shops. From I291, take Exit 4, straight from West to Rte 30, from East left Rte
5 and first right to Chapel, left @ traffic light to Rte 30. 5th
traffic light from west, 4th from east into Town Center Shops.
Ride Description: Rural Areas of S. Windsor & East Windsor; view of Ct River from
Bridges; historic homes in Enfield on Rte 5 and the historic Windsor Locks
Canal. The Canal Trail is closed Nov 16- March 31 due to migrating birds.
Trail is paved but can be bumpy in places due to roots under the trail. Only
exit from the trail is at either end. The ride twice uses bridges to cross
the Connecticut River.
