Bobbie's Cromwell to Lyman Orchards Ride

 

Total Distance:  33.0 miles                Elevation Gain: 2364 feet  

 

Degree of Difficulty Index:  2364 ft / 66.0 mi = 78.80 ft/mi            Terrain:  Very hilly

 

Killer Hills: This is a very hilly ride with several significant killer hills

 

Geographical Region:  South Central Connecticut

 

City/Town:  Cromwell

 

Starting Location:  The Shops at Cromwell Square (K-Mart Plaza), Rt. 9 Exit 27 in Cromwell near the Citizen's Bank at the north end of the parking lot

 

Ride Description:  This is a challenging ride over mostly hilly terrain with a few serious hills along the way.  The ride starts in Cromwell, passes through portions of Berlin and Middletown en route to Lyman Orchards in Middlefield.  There are fine views of the Powder Ridge Ski Area, Lymans Orchards and the Coginchaug River Valley from Powder Hill Road.  The suggested lunch/snack stop is at the Lyman Orchard farm store.
