Bob's Hebron Farms Ride

 

Total Distance:  39.0 miles                          Elevation Gain:  2802 feet  

 

Degree of Difficulty Index:  2802 ft / 39.0 mi = 71.85 ft/mi          Terrain:  Very Hilly

 

Killer Hills: One difficult one (Tinker Pond Road) plus several additional hilly sections

 

Geographical Region:  Southeast Connecticut

 

City/Town:  Hebron

 

Starting Location:  RHAM High School, Route 316, Hebron. Route 316 is off Route 66 just east of the Route 66 & 85 intersection in Hebron. The school is on Route 316 about ¼ mile from Route 66, on the left (west side).

 

Note: Parking lot may not be accessible when school is in session. There are several shopping plazas nearby along Route 66 that could likely provide a parking alternative.

 

Ride Description:  This is a very scenic ride over quite hilly terrain through the forests and farmlands of Hebron, Bolton and Glastonbury.  There is a 0.5 mile stretch of hard-packed dirt road towards the end of the ride (OK for road bikes).
