Hartford (across from Satan's Kingdom State Recreation Area (tubing) on the
Farmington River) --- or at Satan's Kingdom State Recreation Area if
Marandino's parking lot is crowded
Ride Description:
This is an especially scenic (but hilly) ride, much of it alongside
the Farmington River. Among the
interesting spots en route:
Hitchcock Museum in Riverton; Saville Dam; Goodwin Dam; Colebrook Dam
(suggested lunch/snack stop); Sandy Brook Dam; and a couple of roadside State
Parks. A bonus to this ride is
the tour along Sandy Brook and visit to the village of Colebrook (not on most
bike routes).
