City/Town:  Stonington

 

Starting Location:  Velvet Mill, 22 Bayview Ave, Stonington. I95 Exit 91/Rt 234. Take Rt234 towards Stonington. Go 2.3 miles take left on to Main Street. In .2 miles turn left on to Cutler Street.  Cutler St turns left and becomes Elm Street. Turn right on to Bay View Avenue. Velvet Mill is on the left.

 

Ride Description:  This mostly flat ride visits many points along the eastern shoreline with sensational views of Fishers Island Sound.  The ride first goes to Barn Island Wildlife Management Area with boat launch and the educational displays. The ride then passes along the Mystic River eventually passing through the scenic town of Mystic (both going and coming), travels west through Groton Long Point and Noank before heading east to the village of Stonington and Stonington Point.  You can find snacks and ice cream at numerous points along the route particularly Downtown Mystic and Stonington.
