Ride Description:
This ride starts from an inland location and wends its way down to the
shoreline. En route to the USCG
Academy campus, the ride visits the Connecticut Seaside Regional Center and
Harkness Park. After touring the
USCG Academy, the ride climbs to the Connecticut College campus and then
returns to the start using some seldom traveled back roads.
Note 1: due to the 9/11 tragedy, personal identification
(driver's license is acceptable) must be shown to gain access to the USCG
Academy.
Note 2: there are several very difficult turns and traffic
situations on this ride. They
are highlighted on the route sheet.
Take care to negotiate these areas safely.
