Degree of Difficulty Index: 1682 ft / 31.8 mi = 52.89 ft/mi               Terrain: Rolling to hilly

Killer Hills: One notable hill climbing out of Chatfield Hollow on Rt. 80

Geographical Region: South Central Connecticut

City/Town: Clinton

Starting Location:  I-95 Exit 63 CPL (Rt. 81) in Clinton

Ride Description:  This ride is a little different!  It travels through some pretty Clinton residential areas en route to Killingworth and some real country road riding.  The ride enters Chatfield Hollow State Park (possible lunch or snack break stop) using an interesting rear entrance off a dirt road (ok for road bikes).  After a lunch/snack break overlooking the lake in the park, the ride climbs out of the hollow (tough climb) to a height of land in Killingworth. Then enjoy a mostly downhill return ride to the starting point...also over some interesting country roads.  Although this ride is a hilly sucker, it's a "keeper."
