Clyde's Connecticut River Tour

 

Total Distance: 31.4 miles                  Elevation Gain:  660 feet

Geographical Region: South Central Connecticut

 

City/Town: Deep River

 

Starting Location:  Deep River Library parking lot, Village Street, Deep River.  Take Rt. 9 Exit 7 to bottom of ramp; turn towards Deep River on Rt. 80 (Elm St.) and follow 0.7 miles (+/-) into center of Deep River; turn left at traffic light onto Rt. 154 (Main St.) and go 200 yards; turn left onto Village St.; Deep River Library and parking lot will be on the right after turning onto Village St.

 

Ride Description:  This is a mostly flat ride starting in Deep River that meanders down to Saybrook Point (possible lunch or snack stop) by way of Essex and Old Saybrook.  There are excellent views of the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound at various points along the route.  There are optional side trips into Fenwick and Cornfield Point.
