Renates Stonington To Watch Hill Ride

Killer Hills: There are a couple of sharp up hills near the end of the ride

Starting Location:  Velvet Mill, 22 Bayview Avenue in Stonington

 

Ride Description:  This is a picturesque ride over mostly flat terrain that travels through Pawcatuck, CT and Westerly, RI en route to Watch Hill, RI, where there is a great spot to enjoy a lunch or snack.  There are many lovely views of the Pawcatuck River along the route and a special view of Block Island Sound near the Watch Hill Lighthouse (youll want to go down for a look).  There are a couple hilly sections on the return trip.

Watch Hill business district and Watch Hill Yacht Club

Access road to the Watch Hill Lighthouse. The lighthouse station was established in 1807. The current lighthouse and keeper's house were built in 1856. It is located at the juncture of Fishers Island Sound and Block Island Sound. Although the lighthouse is not open to the public, the location and views are spectacular. Dont miss it!
