SCCC's Deep River Fife & Drum Corp Muster Ride

Total Distance:  26.8 miles                     Elevation Gain:  1253 feet  

 

Degree of Difficulty Index:  1253 ft / 26.8 mi = 46.75 ft/mi     Terrain:  Rolling to hilly

 

Killer Hills:  None; but the first part of Dennison Rd (22.7 mi.) will focus your mind for a minute.

 

Geographical Region:  South Central Connecticut

 

Starting Location (city/town):  Westbrook

 

Starting Location (detailed directions to):  I-95 Exit 64 CPL (Rt. 145/Horse Hill Rd) in Westbrook 

 

Ride Description:  Although about twelve miles of the ride is over state routes (Rtes. 145, 80 & 154), the road surfaces are smooth and there are wide shoulders for comfortable riding.  The balance        of the ride is on back roads into and thru the villages of Deep River, Essex, Centerbrook &     Ivoryton w/ several interesting views of the Connecticut River and typical New England small      town sights.
