Killer Hills:  Skiff Mt. Rd. at beginning of ride (~ mile cues 1.6 to 4.7 milesÉ1000 ft of vertical); also Calkinstown Rd. for approx. 1.5 mi. starting @ mile cue 15.4.

Starting Location (detailed directions to):  Kent Post Office parking lot; take Rt. 7 north from intersection w/ Rt. 341 in Kent; turn right into Kent Shopping Village immediately after crossing RR tracks to the post office. 

 

Ride Description:  This ride tours the western end of Connecticut through Kent, Lime Rock, Lakeville and Sharon.  The ride also visits Duchess County in New York for about 10 miles and features some great riding on several county roads w/ low automobile traffic.  While the early portion of the ride is hilly (especially the very difficult Skiff Mt. Road climb early in the ride), the last half of the ride is over mostly flat terrain.

Note: Macedonia Brook and Kent Falls State Parks are located nearby and are easily visited before or after the ride.  It's a good idea to use a bike lock while exploring the state parks.
