A Mansfield Hollow-UConn-Chaplin Ride

Starting Location:  Mansfield Hollow State Park parking lot on Bassetts Bridge Road in Mansfield.  From Rt. 6 take Route 195 north; go about 2 miles continuing past Mansfield Hollow Road to the right; turn right on Bassetts Bridge Road and follow for about ¾ mile to park on the left.  

 

Ride Description:  This is a hilly ride including long up hills, especially during the last half of the ride; there also are thrilling downhill runs.  The first half of the ride features views of farmland and neighborhood routes with views of the Willimantic River and a climb to the UConn campus.  There is a fine spot along the Fenton River for a lunch or snack break followed by several long uphill climbs as the route circles through Chaplin and returns to Mansfield Hollow.
