The Moodus Tour de Lakes Ride

 

Total Distance: 24.5 or 28.2 miles                            Elevation Gain: 1669 feet

Starting Location:  Nathan Hale Shopping Plaza on Rt. 149 in Moodus 

 

Ride Description:  The ride visits Bashan Lake, the Moodus Reservoir, Pickerel Lake, and has a lunch stop at Day Pond State Park.  It passes through interesting farm country and many forested areas.  The ride can be extended by about 4 miles with a visit to the Johnsonville Historic District, an interesting museum-style area off Rt. 149 south of the Moodus town center.
