Carol's Old Wethersfield Ride - 2005

Starting Location:  Wethersfield Cove, Main Street, Wethersfield. From I-91 Exit 26, Old Wethersfield, follow Great Meadow Road to Marsh Street past the cemetery on the right into Old Wethersfield. Go right on Main Street at the flagpole and brick church and follow Main Street to the end at Wethersfield Cove.

 

Ride Description:  This is a lovely flat to rolling ride through historic sections of Wethersfield, Rocky Hill and South Glastonbury. It features a trip through Goodwin Park and a special side trip into beautiful Cedar Hill Cemetery, which is an historic arboretum and the final resting place of Katharine Hepburn.  There is a double crossing of the Connecticut River on the Rocky Hill – Glastonbury Ferry ($2.00 round trip fare), and a short section of hard packed stone dust trail to enjoy (OK for road bikes).
