Carol's "Go Directly to Jail" Ride

Killer Hills: There is a long, gradual climb to Old Newgate Prison and one short, steep killer hill towards the end of the ride just after passing the west entrance to the McLean Game Refuge

 

Geographical Region:  North Central Connecticut

 

City/Town:  Simsbury

 

Starting Location:  International Skating Center of Connecticut, 1375 Hopmeadow Street (Routes 10 and 202) near the Wagner car dealership in northern Simsbury.

 

Ride Description:  This is a neat ride over mostly rolling terrain through portions of Simsbury, East Granby, Suffield, Granby and Southwick, Massachusetts. It features a visit to Old Newgate Prison, passes airports, golf courses, and the McLean Game Refuge, and has pastoral views of tobacco fields, tree & shrub nurseries, and dairy farms.
