Starting Location:
Canal Line parking area on the left of Sherman Avenue in Hamden. Take
Sherman Avenue west off Rt. 10 (Whitney Avenue), about 1 mile north of Rt. 40
and about 0.4 miles south of Mt. Carmel Road (road to Sleeping Giant State Park
and Quinnipiac University).
Ride Description:
This mostly flat ride through sections of Hamden, Cheshire, Prospect
and Southington and features a suggested lunch/snack stop @ Panthorn Park in
Southington. There is a visit to Brookvale Park along the Farmington Canal
Linear Park multi-use path in Hamden.
The route travels 6.3 miles of the bike path going out and 4.8 miles
coming back. There is a possible ice cream stop @ Wentworth's ice cream
parlor near the end of the ride if that interests you.
